About

Karin Verbru was born in 1997 in Mexico City. She lives and works in Mexico City. Her work has been shown in Mexico, Ireland and Spain. Verbru received her Bachelor’s of Literature from National University of Mexico (UNAM) in 2022. She did further studies in Photography and Cinematogrpahy in 2024 in the same institution. In 2021 she started her career as a photographer with the Doors Around The Globe Project with which she travelled for 4 years.

Since 2023 the focus of her photographies has been the dialogs between nature and not natural elements. Through her work Karin Verbru has shown a procilvity to interelating photography with painting, poetry, writing and radio to weave dialogs with nature and social topics. Her practice has explored the influence of vibration, the use of bioplastic, clay, organic matter and video to expand photography. Between 2022-2025, she has collaborated with Radio Nopal, and recently contributed the sound piece Resonancia Viva—where vibration and intention interact with water—to the exhibition Otr^s Mund^s at Museo Tamayo (2025).

Approach

Art that engages people in artistic research grounded in a deep study of nature.

All my projects share three key elements: they involve collective participation, they are interdisciplinary and they aim to deepen our connection with nature: may it be with physical elements, with bodies, with territories.
