Resonancia Viva (Water Dialogs) is a project that blends performance, sound, and photography. It is a sonic and vocal exploration inspired by Veda Austin’s water-freezing experiments, opening a dialogue with the molecular structure of water. Each improvisation followed the Mandala Musical method, designed by Deva Baumbach — a ritual composition system based on signs.
Four different vocal improvisations were performed, each influencing a distinct body of water. The water was then frozen using Austin’s method and photographed. The aim was to observe the relationship between the theme of each improvisation and the images revealed by the frozen water.
The results pointed toward an understanding of water as a wise substance — one that offers a relationship to be cultivated over time, impossible to control yet mesmerizing in its revelations, as the photographs show.
Presented at Museo Tamayo as part of the Otr^s Mund^s exhibition, the project was included in Radio Nopal’s intervention and realized during Art Week 2025.
